Product Description
Àmàlà is a staple food native to the Yoruba ethnic group of Southwestern Nigeria. It is made of yam, cassava flour, or unripe plantain flour. Tubers of yams are peeled, sliced, cleaned, dried and then ground into flour. It is also called èlùbọ́. This is indigenous to the Yoruba people in the western part of Nigeria and it’s done by converting raw yam (Known as Elubo) into powdered form. The resulting flour is usually a brown colored powder which turns dark brown when stirred into hot water to form a dough.
